About DJ Guru

Michael Walsh, also known as DJ Guru, moved to the territory in 2000 from Canberra. Michael worked extensively in the hospitality industry in Canberra prior to his move. With 15 years experience in the DJ industry, working in various night clubs in Canberra and Sydney and running his own mobile DJ business. Michael also has experience working in the USA, and the UK.

Since moving to the Territory, in the pursuit of the dream of starting his own Fishing Charter Business, as well as maintaining his DJ business, Michael has worked in a number of well known and prominent nightspots in Darwin.

Just some of DJ Guru's work history includes:-

• Darwin Ski Club with the well known Sunday sessions - 2 yrs - supporting bands like the Choir Boys as well as Darwin’s own Doctor Elephant and Baker Bros
• Tuesday industry night DJ at the 'Hippy Club' - 2 yrs
• worked at the Lost Arc, Kitty O'sheas, Blue Heelers, the Hub at Palmers ton and Cazaly's
• worked extensively in the rural area, DJ'ing a number of Rodeos for the NT Cowboys Association and the Majestic Complex to name just a few.

Over a 5 year period Michael has expanded his business to encompass Private functions, specialising in Weddings, as well as 21st, 18th birthdays and many other special occasion parties including Christmas and New Year Functions. He is now able to offer the services of 5 mobile disco units, with qualified, experienced and reliable DJ's are who are all able to offer a service level second to none.

DJ Guru and his team can offer a range of themes and music styles to encompass everyone’s requirements, from the 1920's through to the latest release dance music. Our DJ's will meet with you, discuss your requirements, and even dress in theme to get your party going.

For a professional and personalized service, you can rely on DJ Guru. All bookings include a pre function meeting to discuss your requirements. We are fully insured for public liability; use our own professional equipment and music. We meet with your function co-coordinator, make all the necessary arrangements to set up and pack down (all done in our own time and not as an additional charge to you!).

In addition to DJ Service, Michael is in a position to offer a Fishing Charter Service, at a discount rate if you book both through us. We have access to facilities to cater for larger groups of up to 30 and welcome the opportunity to cover your Bucks Party.

Bookings are easily secured with a 10% deposit prior to the function and cheques, money orders or direct deposit (and of course) cash payments to finalise the deal.
